95th Birthday Celebration Events

Many events will be held over the summer season to celebrate Manuka Pool’s 95th birthday. Please join us in these events and be part of history!

24 October 25 – Champion Board returns to Manuka Pool

13 November 25

Talk by Nick Swain on the heritage of the Manuka precinct

20 November 25 – Panel discussion

Panel Discussion – Does the ACT need an Aquatic Strategy?

As part of our broader objective to support Manuka Pool, Friends of Manuka Pool has organised a panel discussion with various speakers to discuss an ACT Aquatic Strategy. We are the only jurisdiction in Australia without one.

Surely we need one to ensure the future of our children’s water skills and safety, aquatic sports users, rehabilitation and leisure activities and, of course, lap swimming for health and well-being?

Anyone interested in aquatic activities are encouraged to attend and have your voice heard. The panel includes Senator David Pocock, Ms Fiona Carrick Independent MLA, Sarah Ransom (Save Phillip Pool), Lucas Hayden (RLSA), Tracey Menzies (Swim Coach), Kylie Sheffield (Canberra Wild Swimmers), and chaired by Ms Alison Reeve (Garvan Institute).

The event is free and limited to 80 people, so book now!

Gold coin donation gratefully accepted.
