Our current committee was elected at our Annual General Member Meeting in October 2025.
Caroline Luke-Evered
President
Caroline is passionate about the pool and swims there almost every day during the season. She’s the one with the large colourful bag of swimming aids, headphones, heads-up display goggles and bright Funkita swimming costumes!
Rebecca Scouller
Vice-President
Rebecca was one of the founding members of the Friends of Manuka Pool. Rebecca started swimming at the pool more than 15 years ago and can often be spotted wearing an old-school floral swimming cap. Rebecca only started swimming laps once she moved to Canberra, and has accepted she’ll always be a slow swimmer but has always loved being in the water. Manuka Pool is Rebecca’s favourite place in Canberra.
Caroline Luke-Evered
Treasurer
At the 2025 AGM, John McGinness stepped down and there were no nominees, hence, Caroline has taken on the extra role for the time being.
Rebecca Scouller
Secretary
There has been no Secretary for the last financial year and at this year’s AGM, there was no nominee so Rebecca has taken on that role for the time being.
Sam Doyle
Ordinary Member and Public Officer
Sam is a new committee member and has taken on the role of Public Officer.
Mary Gilmore
Ordinary Member
Mary is a long term Canberran and a keen lap swimmer at Manuka Pool (she has been swimming there for decades). This historic pool is her favourite place in Canberra. Mary is an enthusiastic and proud member of the Manuka Pool Lappers participating in the annual Laps for Life Challenge and the 24 hour fundraising swims held at the end of each season.
Katy Speldewinde
Ordinary Member
Katy is a newly elected committee member. She grew up in Canberra and has always had a love of the water. She swam as a teenager and taught swimming as her first job. She spent many weekends and birthday parties at Manuka Pool. For her swimming is nostalgia and
what makes summer.
