Manuka Pool: Architecture and Heritage

The Friends of Manuka Pool committee is pleased to invite David Hobbes of Philip Lesson Architects to give a talk on the architecture of Manual Pool and its heritage status on Thursday 11 March 2021 at 6.30 pm in the Press Conference Room at the new Media Centre at Manuka Oval. David has been the main author of the Conservation Management Plan for Manuka Pool with an updated version about to be released. The talk is a free event organised by FoMP and welcomes all Canberrans who are interested in heritage architecture and the Manuka Pool history. The pool celebrated its 90th birthday in January this year and holds a very special place in the history of early Canberra and its inhabitants during the Depression era and beyond.

There will be a display of Manuka Pool memorabilia in the conference room and attendees are invited to view the display prior to and after the talk which is scheduled to last about one hour including question and answer time.

The event is restricted to 40 guests only and all COVID-19 safety rules will apply as per current ACT Govt regulations for small gatherings. Tickets will be available until 10 am Thur 11 Mar 21.
